December 2013
Dana and Koa,
What do I say to a couple who--through capturing your special day--truly reminds me of why I love wedding photography so very much. I mean, seriously, you two are amazing! What I loved most about your celebration was the pure simplicity of it. It was a day not about the decor; not about the details; not about the hair and makeup. It was a day simply about celebrating two lives coming together as one. Plain and simple.
You two were so incredibly easy to work with, and your love for one another rings true in all of the photos. Congratulations to you both, and thank you a million times for asking me to capture your special day!
Fun. Fun. Fun. That basically summarizes the entire day as a whole! What a fabulous wedding! Truly--I feel so honored to have captured all the love and laughter of the event.
This was such a different experience for me because--while I typically meet with my couples several times leading up to their big day--Dana (who lives in Southern California) and I literally spoke and met for the very first time on the afternoon of her wedding. Up until this point, I had been corresponding with her mom (who lives in Texas) via e-mail and over the phone for several months. So it was great to finally meet both her and her mom as well as the groom, their families, and--of course--their awesome bridal party :-).
There was such a feeling of overall excitement and happiness throughout the day. I just loved it. Even with the near-freezing temperatures outside (and their ceremony being moved indoors to the clubhouse), Dana and Koa stayed so positive and were more than willing to head outside for some beautiful portraits (flip-flops and all!).
Thank you again to the mother-of-the-bride for all of your time and energy in planning such a wonderful wedding for your daughter. Nice work :-)! And again, thank you for hiring me to capture such an important day in you and your family's lives.
Here are a few faves from the day. Enjoy!

The ladies made a quick celebratory stop at the bar before we headed outside to brave the chilly weather for photos. Such a fun group of girls!
All of the floral arrangements were made with love by the bride's aunt. So pretty!
Thanks to the groomsmen for being so fabulous! Love the suits they wore. You guys rocked it!
The groomsmen informed me that, "It's much easier to go from serious to smiling rather than smiling to serious." Thanks for the tip guys ;-)
Dana, you are stunning.
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!
Loved this sweet First Look! Their reactions are so priceless!
Throughout their photos, we laughed. A lot.
Love!!!
Koa, you were such an easy groom to work with; thanks for putting up with my craziness!
Dana sure is a lucky lady!
And Koa is a lucky guy!
Yay! We got one! Fa fa fa fa-reeeeeeeeezing…you'd never know it though--such a fun bridal party!
The reception was held in the Canyon Oaks' elegant clubhouse. A beautiful venue.
Their gorgeous cake was by Upper Crust Bakery. Dana LOVED it!
This little guest was so stinkin' cute!
Koa's mom and stepdad performed some of the ceremony music. Incredible.
Here comes the bride!
After the ceremony while awaiting their Grand Entrance, the bridal party celebrated with a round on the house!
The food was amazing! The couple opted for appetizers and a three-course plated meal all provided by the incredible chefs at Canyon Oaks.
Toasts and cake cutting were very sweet.
These two were in their own little world during their First Dance. So romantic!
The bride's dear friend and bridesmaid, Holly Jo, performed the song during the Father/Daughter Dance. She is amazing!!! Please check out her music--she is awesome!
The Wedding DJ provided all of the uplighting and music. Incredibly organized, friendly, and professional. Highly recommend them!
There were some AMAZING dance moves provided by a few of the guests!
Michael Jackson in da house! Who knew the groom could dance?! I mean, for real! Thriiiiiiiiiiiiiiller!!!
