Sierra & Pete

Sierra and Pete's engagement session was absolute perfection! Beautiful light. Beautiful location. Beautiful couple. And the best part? These two had SO many fabulous ideas and personal touches that made the shoot extra special and unique.
Sierra is super laid back and has this bubbly, fun personality; I have truly enjoyed getting to know her a bit over the past few months. She's incredibly kind-hearted and thoughtful (and SO creative, I might add; she is the owner and designer behind Dogwood Designs!). And although I just recently had the opportunity to meet the groom, Pete, he's one of those people who you easily get along with…in part because he's absolutely hilarious, and loves to make people laugh. Especially Sierra :-)
Throughout the session, the soon-to-be's laughed and joked the entire time. It was pretty easy to capture their love for one another…as well as genuine smiles since Pete has a way of getting Sierra to giggle! Loved how open they were to my suggestions, and I appreciated their ideas as well. From the beginning, the two wanted to incorporate a setting as well as activities that showcased their love for the outdoors and nature. They wanted to include many of their favorite mutual hobbies like gold panning (yes, REAL gold panning!) and playing fetch with their two pups. And I absolutely love when a couple brings their thoughts to the collaboration table because it makes the session that much more memorable.
Thanks you two for a fun evening! I am honored to be capturing your special day in just a few weeks!
Here are my favorites from their country-inspired, river engagement session. Enjoy!

LOVE this next image! As I mentioned earlier, S and P enjoy gold panning together, and this is just such a fun, beautiful shot of the two of them interacting and doing what they love :-)
Sierra and Pete also have a pretty fun proposal story, and we decided to bring it to life a bit! The evening Pete popped the question, he had been building Sierra's anticipation and excitement by telling all day by telling her how he had found "a huge nugget" while out panning that day. Well, the "huge nugget" turned out to be a stunning engagement ring (which, for the record, was definitely not found in a river-ha!).
She was SO surprised, and--of course--said YES!
Pete is a BMX rider, and this next shot was SO fun to capture. He actually had to ride down the path at a decent speed, stop at just the right spot, and then also coordinate the trick while focusing on the kiss! Phew! I'm exhausted just thinking about how he pulled it off--ha!
After the river, we headed up the road to a beautiful, sunset-kissed field to let the couple's dogs out to play. Such sweet pups :-) They clearly are S and P's fur babies, and I loved watching them interact and have fun as a family…of four!
