Vintage-Inspired Styled Wedding Shoot
Part Two: Something Borrowed
April 2013
"Nothing happens unless first a dream." --Carl Sandburg
This styled shoot is my baby. My brainchild. A tiny seed of an idea that grew into something so incredibly creative and fun, I still cannot believe I was able to be a part of it. And I am so very grateful and proud of the team of talented, amazing vendors, stylists and business women who helped make this idea into a reality.
The planning process took well over a month in the making. It began as a little bitty thought that had been rolling around in my head for quite some time. Finally, I decided to reach out to a local wedding coordinator, Lindsey, to help me pull this thing off. Lindsey is the owner of Meant to Be--a wedding coordination business here in Chico--and I was so thrilled when she agreed to meet me for coffee. So there she and I sat one rainy afternoon at a local Starbucks. We chatted about all things wedding, our goals for our businesses, and some loose ideas and themes for a potential styled shoot. Pretty soon, Lindsey and I were e-mailing back and forth, contacting possible vendors we'd like to bring on board, and scouting various locations. It was quickly blossoming into something much bigger than I could have ever imagined.
Eight amazing wedding and event vendors, stylists and designers. Several weeks of planning and creativity. One day of absolute hustle and hard work. And a few hours of fun, fresh, modern photography!
I'm thrilled to share with you the second installment of this incredibly creative and unique styled wedding shoot! Enjoy! And please, please, please share, tweet and pin this link!

There are two amazing businesses I'd like to showcase with Part Two of our Vintage-Inspired Wedding Shoot.
Ashley Smith, owner of Something Borrowed Vintage Decor located here in Chico, has everything you need to create a unique look for your next event. For our styled shoot, she provided all of the decor and tableware. Yes--ALL of it...and let me just say that this collection only scratches the surface of what she has to offer. Weddings, showers, parties...if your theme is vintage-inspired, shabby chic, rustic, or if you're simply looking for something unique for your special day, this girl has you covered!
From antique trunks and lamps, to vintage chairs and tables, mason jars, vases, crates, dressers...OMG! The list goes on and on!
In addition to her specialty rental items, Ashley also offers custom styling and design. She will meet with you for an initial consultation to help you create a unique look and bring your vision to life. And, if requested, continue to help you along the design process leading up to your big day!
This beautiful floral centerpiece arrangement was designed and staged by both Ashley with Something Borrowed, as well as Lindsey, owner of Meant to Be. Meant to Be is a fabulous wedding coordination business here in Chico. She offers full, partial, and day-of wedding coordination services. She can also help you design a theme and look for your unique event!
Lindsey was the glue to this entire styled shoot! She brought together a team of 8 amazing vendors and stylists: e-mailing, calling, meeting, designing...this girl worked SO hard to ensure that the shoot was organized and exactly matched her vision. From the invitations to the cupcakes, Lindsey was there every step of the way.

Ashley and Lindsey teamed together to create a one-of-a-kind look for our styled shoot. Their attention to detail was awesome! Both ladies are incredibly creative, organized and professional...not to mention calm...which is characteristic that a quality coordinator must possess on a day as important as your wedding! Know whum sayin'! It can get cray cray the day of a wedding, and the coordinator is the one who needs to Stay Calm and Marry On! PS The Menu card as well as all paper design was provided by Katelyn from Shift 8 Studio; I will be blogging about her as well as Cupcake Crusader in Part Three of our Styled Shoot...stay tuned for the next installment!
Love the bottle of Pellegrino on the table! A classic, unique twist to the traditional ice-water in a glass pitcher that you see at so many wedding receptions. Just another example of how these ladies think outside the box!
Again, everything you see here is available for rent through Something Borrowed Vintage Decor.
Our lovely model, Holley! STUUUUUUUUUUNING!
Love, love, love this old, distressed ladder and the soft, simple Baby's Breath bouquet...everything you see here, again, styled by Ashley and Lindsey!
So cute!
This welcome table is a perfect set-up! Check out the following images for amazing inspiration! Nice work ladies!
I have to give a shout out here to Ashley who had the idea of putting the wedding shoes on this antique scale. Perfect!
This vintage door is one of Ashley's newer items in stock.
Thanks ladies for bringing this whole thing to life! Your creativity is off the charts amazing, and I loved working with you! Muah!
