Becca & Tom: Est. October 12, 2013

October 2013
Becca and Tom are a prime example of why I love what I do! A chance to meet an amazing couple, hear their incredible stories, capture their unique personalities, and document their love on one of the biggest days of their lives! Truly honored.
These two are the reason I believe in fate. Honestly. Their story is remarkable. A small-town, beautiful, ambitious girl from Northern California heads off to one of the top culinary schools in New York. Shortly after, she meets her perfect match: Tom. A kind, sweet, fun-loving guy who just so happens to share her passion for fine cuisine! Together over the next several years, they pursued their dreams; they now live in Chicago where they create spectacular dishes in two of the city's elite restaurants. And--as was said over and over throughout the evening's toasts--they truly are perfect for each other and completely meant to be.
From our initial correspondence, I knew this wedding would be spectacular! I felt incredibly honored and excited when Becca confirmed that, yes, she'd like me to capture her special day. Over the course of a few months, she and I chatted mostly through e-mail. She is so incredibly busy with her career, we missed a couple of opportunities to Skype. When I finally was able to meet her in person, however, just a few days before the wedding, we clicked wonderfully--she was so laid-back and funny, not to mention stunning! As we went over the details of the day's timeline, I just knew this would be one for the books. And it was.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. Enjoy!

Christina--stylist and owner of The Shaded Image Salon--is AWESOME! She is so talented! Love her work...and her fun personality :-)
As the ladies were finishing up at The Shaded Image Salon, I headed over to the wedding venue to shoot some details. Cory's Country Inn is a gorgeous garden venue just north of Chico.
Loved the wonderful friendship between the bride and her best friend/maid of honor. She was the only one present as Becca dressed and prepared in her suite.
Was thrilled that the couple requested I capture the groom getting ready as well! Yay!
Love this one! Tom, you are one cool dude!
The floral design was amazing! Christian and Johnson did a beautiful job--so talented!
Love when a couple opts for a First Look! It leaves ample time for photos, and is such a special and intimate moment captured. The couple's reactions are priceless! Here we go!
Oh Becca--you are stunning!
And Tom, Becca is one lucky lady!
Again, the floral design was incredible! There were even mini purple artichokes in the bouquets!
Loved the variety the venue had to offer--so pretty! You two are beautiful!
P.S. Um, did I mention you are my new favorites for drinking Natural Light...in a can...during your photos!
The bridal party was so much fun!
Well, at least two of the four followed directions...he's a keeper, Becca!
The autumn colors were fabulous! So brilliant.
Here comes the bride!
This little one was so stinkin' cute! She was so sweet and full of spunk. She agreed to pose for my camera under one condition--I let her push the button when I was finished!
Becca's mom and the maid of honor's mom are besties since college! Loved watching the four of them interact :-)
As cocktail hour began...
...I stole the newlyweds for a few sunset photos.
L-O-V-E!
The reception details were stunning! Again, thank you Christian and Johnson for creating a photographer's dream :-) It was such a pleasure to capture your creativity and talent--amazing!
One of Becca's many culinary talents is that she is a master of cake design! She baked and decorated her very own wedding cake!
The toasts are one of my favorite aspects of the wedding day. These ones were especially funny and moving...
...and I even got a little teary when Becca's dad spoke.
Loved that the bride and groom personally delivered their favors to each one of their guests as dinner was finishing up. What better way to incorporate Becca's Chico roots than offering dainty little almonds and nuts from the local orchards!
This cake was unreal! So stunning!
First dance. They laughed and smiled the entire time :-)
And during the father-daughter dance, my favorite little flower girl joined in.
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Lents!
