Vintage-Inspired Styled Wedding Shoot
Part One: Getting Ready
April 2013
"Nothing happens unless first a dream." --Carl Sandburg
This styled shoot is my baby. My brainchild. A tiny seed of an idea that grew into something so incredibly creative and fun, I still cannot believe I was able to be a part of it. And I am so very grateful and proud of the team of talented, amazing vendors, stylists and business women who helped make this idea into a reality.
The planning process took well over a month in the making. It began as a little bitty thought that had been rolling around in my head for quite some time. Finally, I decided to reach out to a local wedding coordinator, Lindsey, to help me pull this thing off. Lindsey is the owner of Meant to Be--a wedding coordination business here in Chico--and I was so thrilled when she agreed to meet me for coffee. So there she and I sat one rainy afternoon at a local Starbucks. We chatted about all things wedding, our goals for our businesses, and some loose ideas and themes for a potential styled shoot. Pretty soon, Lindsey and I were e-mailing back and forth, contacting possible vendors we'd like to bring on board, and scouting various locations. It was quickly blossoming into something much bigger than I could have ever imagined.
Eight amazing wedding and event vendors, stylists and designers. Several weeks of planning and creativity. One day of absolute hustle and hard work. And a few hours of fun, fresh, modern photography!
I'm thrilled to share with you the first installment of this incredibly creative and unique styled wedding shoot! Enjoy! And please, please, please share, tweet and pin this link!

Love, love, love the products that Banana Moon uses! Oh. My. Goodness. Makeup heaven! She has EVERYTHING you will need for your special day.
Amy Tomczak--owner of Banana Moon--is AMAZING...so talented. Our model, Holley, looked flawless!
Amy specializes in eyelash extensions, too...so fabulous. They looked awesome!
Um, I want that palette! I love how Amy blended the colors to make them truly unique to our model and the look we were after. Soft and natural with subtle pinks, greys, and green to match our decor.
Our lovely model, Holley, getting airbrushed. This type of makeup is so much more natural looking than the traditional liquid foundation...love it!
Big thanks to this pretty lady...very fun and incredibly professional. Amy is so talented! Thank you, thank you for opening your studio to us!
A couple shots of the dress hanging in the doorway at the Banana Moon Studio.
On to the hair! The lovely and very talented Seckira...this girl is incredible!
We kept joking...our "bride" on her "big day"...pensively waiting to say "I do." Lol.
Holley, you are gorgeous, girl! Thank you so very much for being a part of this shoot. You are awesome! I have much, much more to say about this lovely lady in the next blog post, but--for now--I will just say this: you rock! Holley was incredibly professional the entire day. Very easy to work with, and just so sweet.
Contact Seckira for your next event...or even for your next cut and color. She is not only talented, but very passionate about creating a unique and amazing look for her clients. Thank you so much for helping make our vision happen!
