They met in college. He was a small town California kid. An athlete who--along with his best friend--decided to head a thousand miles north after graduation to attend school in Montana. Little did he know that this path would lead him to more than simply fun college memories with new friends. It would lead him to meet his future wife--a sweet, country girl who was attending the same school right there in her home state. And several years later on the night of their wedding, it was said repeatedly during the toasts: they're perfect for one another and it was evident from the start. Darcie and Tyler are both kind-hearted, caring people who share a love for the little things in life--the things that really matter.
Thank you, Darcie and Tyler, for inviting me to your special day to capture all the love and laughter. Your family and friends were incredibly welcoming, and I truly enjoyed working with you both! I was honored to photograph your wedding, and I wish you both happiness and fabulous memories in the future!
Here are a few favorites from their beautiful backyard wedding. Enjoy!

Darcie and Tyler opted for a First Look prior to the ceremony.
Tyler's reaction was so genuine and sweet, I decided to include it in its entirety :-)

After the First Look, we took a few gorgeous, afternoon shots of the soon-to-be Mr. & Mrs., and then we gathered their super fun bridal party for photos.
The ceremony and reception details were perfect, and fit the couple's personality to a T. For their special event, they had anticipated 250 guests. It was spectacular to watch friends and family from all over the country arrive at the ceremony, embrace one another, and celebrate two lives becoming one.
LOVED that the couple included a Tree Planting Ceremony to symbolize the unity of their lives and love for one another. Darcie and Tyler each had a jar of dirt from their hometown, and during the ceremony they combined the dirt and planted the tree. It was beautiful.
Upon seeing her groom...
...and his bride.
The weather was fabulous, and the entire event was held in the backyard of Tyler's parent's house. Their rustic barn at the front of the property made a perfect backdrop for the event.
Yummy BBQ from Ike's Smoke House and gorgeous homemade cakes (the mother of the bride baked and decorated them all!) complimented the theme of the wedding perfectly :-)
Toasts were hilarious...
...and moving.
This little flower girl was SO stinkin' cute! Enjoyed chatting mama stuff with her mommy, too, who was one of the bridesmaids :-)
And the First Dance topped off a fabulous evening! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Rutledge!
